            Pillavalu gajapathi krishnaveni aka jikki , was a preferred film playback singer from andhra pradesh, south republic of india. she herbaceous plant over nearly 10,000 songs in telugu, tamil, kannada, malayalam, hindi and sinhala languages.

Life


             Jikki was born in madras on gregorian calendar month three, 1935 to gajapathi naidu and rajakanthamma , united nations agency had stirred from chandragiri, close to tirupati in andhra pradesh to madras for his or her sustenance.

            Her uncle devaraju naidu worked as music musician with celebrated kanarese theatre legend and picture pioneer gubbi veeranna and this gave exposure to the young sensible wanting lady , krishnaveni ,to music and film world. She was married to made playback singer and conductor a. m. rajah. a.m. rajah-jikki duets are super-duper hits. the tamil motion-picture show 'then nilavu' was an enormous hit conjointly thanks to these all time nice singers. jikki has conjointly sung several songs in her husband's direction - songs that also play in radio stations. a mother of six kids, jikki lost her husband in an exceedingly train mishap. he slipped and fell in between the tracks whereas boarding a train. this was one incident that she may always remember. once her husband's death she stopped singing for someday. then she came out of retirement and panax quinquefolius for ilaiyaraja. she conjointly started a music organisation along with her 2 sons and performed in several countries as well as us.

             She was honoured with "ugadi puraskaram" by madras telugu academy and government of tamilnadu awarded her "kalai ma mani".

Death

               She had been littered with carcinoma and had surgery, however the cancer shortly unfold to her kidneys and eventually the liver. many tries were created to avoid wasting her life by her shut friend and singer jamunapatrician that were supported by donations through musical nites, medical / financial support from governments of tamilnadu and state. then tamilnadu chief minister j. jayalalithaa and state chief minister n._chandrababu_naidu had granted jikki of rs a 10,0,000 (one large integer rupees) from the 'dr. mgr' trust and rs 2,00,000 (two large integer rupees) severally once hearing her ill health and her problem to satisfy the treatment expenses. finally, she died on august sixteen, 2004 in metropolis.
