Dulcian                

         The Dulcian May Be A Renaissance Bass Wind Instrument, With A Double Reed And A Bi fold Cone like Bore. Equivalent Terms Embody "Curtal" In English, "Dulzian" In German, "Bajón" In Spanish, "Douçaine"' In French, "Dulciaan" In Dutch, And "Dulciana" In Italian. The Forerunner Of The Trendy Double Reed, It Flourished Between 1550 And 1700, However Was In All Probability fabricated Earlier.
           Towards The Top Of This Era It Co-Existed With, And Was Then Outdated By The Baroque Double Reed, Though It Continued To Be Utilized In Kingdom Of Spain Till Early Within The Twentieth Century. It Had Been Compete In Each Profane And Sacred Contexts, Throughout Northern And Western Europe, Yet As Within The New World.
